How QuizFun.fun is financed
This page explains where the money comes from and where it goes. It is written plainly, because the question deserves a plain answer.
Two separate streams
The portal has two sources of income, and they pay for two different things.
**Advertising and sponsors pay the members.** Every reward for a correct answer and every tournament prize comes from what advertisers and sponsors pay us. That is the whole purpose of the advertising on the free way.
**Premium pays the portal.** Membership fees cover the running costs: hosting, development, support, translation and the work behind the question bank.
What that means
- No member ever plays for the money of another member. Premium fees never become a reward or a prize.
- Rewards do not depend on how many premium memberships are sold. They depend on advertising income.
- There is no stake. Taking part in a quiz costs nothing, and a tournament entry is part of a membership that would be paid anyway, not a wager on the outcome.
Why we keep it apart
A portal where the paid subscriptions of some members become the prize money of others would be something else entirely, and it would raise questions we do not want to raise. Keeping the two streams apart is a deliberate decision, not an accident of bookkeeping.
What advertising means for you
Advertising is what makes the free way possible, so using the portal free of charge means agreeing to adverts and to the cookies the advertising networks need. Whoever prefers not to can take a premium membership, which removes the advertising. Both ways give access to the same quizzes, the same questions and the same rewards.
Sponsors
A sponsor may pay for a tournament and its prizes. Where that is the case, it is named on the tournament itself. A sponsor has no influence on the questions, on the order in which they appear or on who wins.
